With the combination of cultural and sporting events, visitors to gay Palm Springs will delight in the variety of events Palm Springs sponsors each year. With the close proximity to Hollywood, the stars as well as thousands of normal folk turn out for the annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. For one weekend a year, in late March when the weather is at its most perfect, the town turns into the world's largest lesbian circuit party. The occasion, of course, is the Dinah Shore LPGA Championship. In April, Palm Springs is host to the White Party, the nation's largest gay global dance fest. And, in late fall, over 30,000 gay and lesbians flock to Palm Springs for the annual Pride Festival.    Gay Palm Springs Events PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - January Featuring films from around the world at theaters in Palm Springs, this is one of the country's largest film festivals. SOUTHWEST ARTS FESTIVAL - January 21st Annual event featuring 250 acclaimed artists showing traditional, contemporary and abstract fine works of art and quality crafts. A partial list of popular returning artists includes: Sasa Blackoff, Stephen Clapham, Joe Eggert, Shelly Rapp Evans, Rock Newcomb and Kim Seyesnem-Obrzut. Lucy Lawless and Carmen Electra will appear at the 2007 festivities.
